Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage

Chipangali is a wildlife Orphanage which offers a home to Orphaned, abandoned and sick wild animals. Chipangali is 25km from Bulawayo's City Centre on the Bulawayo Beit Bridge Road. Chipangali is a haven for Wild AnimalsĀ which have little hope for survival in the bush. wild creatures which have been orphaned, abandoned, injured, born in captivity, snared or brought up unsuccessfully as pets.

Over the years Chipangali has saved countless lives releasing creatures into the wild after rigorous preparation. Those that can not be freed, sadly the majority, are given permanent homes thanks to the moderate visitor admission fees and adoption scheme "Chipangali", meaning Open Friendly Country, was set up in 1973 by Vivian & Paddy Wilson and continues to be run by this wonderful couple to this day, together with their son Kevin, his wife Nicky & a staff of around 40 Zimbabweans.
