NOTICE OF POWER OUTAGE AT CRITERION WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND RESULTANT WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS TO AREAS FED FROM CRITERION RESERVOIR.
The City of Bulawayo would like to advise the public that on Tuesday, 20th of April 2021, there was a power outage early morning at Criterion Waterworks which got restored at 10:50hrs resulting in nine (9) hours of water treatment being lost. Again, at 15:28hrs, Criterion Water Treatment plant lost power that has resulted in the Criterion Clear Reservoir collapsing.
Criterion reservoir supplies 6J, Rifle Range, Hillside and Magwegwe Reservoir.
However, the following suburbs that feed directly from Criterion will be immediately affected and hence will be placed under temporary water shedding until power has been restored and normal treatment resumes.
The affected Suburbs are as follows:
Bulawayo City Council wishes to apologize to its valued consumers for the inconvenience likely to be caused.
