The City of Bulawayo has resolved, in terms of Section 247 of the Urban Councils Act (CAP 29:15), to undertake a General Revaluation and Assessment of all properties falling within its confines.
A Valuation Officer has power to enter at all reasonable hours (08:00 hours - 17:00 hours) during daytime into and upon any property within the Council area for the purpose of valuating and assessing the property. In terms of Section 239 of the said Act, it is an offence for any person to obstruct or hinder a Valuation Officer in the exercise of his duties.
This notice, therefore, services to inform all property owners/occupiers that Assistant Valuation Officers will be visiting properties at various dates during the period January – December 2024 in pursuance of this revaluation exercise. The Assistant Valuation Officers will be carrying with them their identity cards and letter of Authority signed by the Town Clerk.
