The City of Bulawayo would like to advise members of the motoring public of the proposed Waverley Street Improvement Works, between Luveve Road (6th Avenue Extension) and Khami Road. The Works will comprise of pothole patching, localized pavement reconstructions, overlays, reinstating of carriageway markings, drainage and other cyclical maintenance works. The works will commence on Monday, 13th November 2023 for eight weeks. Once completed these works will prolong the life of the carriageway, improve road safety and ride quality
To ensure the safety of both the motoring public and workforce whilst carrying out the Works, the following traffic management systems will be in place:
During the closure of Waverley street, the Renkini section and the approach to Khami road, the southbound traffic will be diverted onto Basch street, Caxton road, Wisbech road to join Waverley street and vice versa for the northbound traffic. The diversion routes are shown on the sketch below.
Every effort has been made to ensure disruption to traffic, businesses and residents is kept to a minimum. However, the road closure will inevitably cause some disruption, and for this, the City of Bulawayo wishes to apologise in advance.
The motoring and the general public are advised to exercise extreme caution when approaching the Works locations, observe all warning signs and to follow the diversion route signs.
Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.
